Windows Server 2019 Updated July 2020 x64 Official ISO Download (Refreshed Media 2c9b67da) with Verified SHA-256

If you’re looking for a clean, complete, unmodified Windows Server 2019 ISO on a relatively fresh patch baseline, you’ve come to the right place.

Windows Server 2019 shipped in late 2018 (Build 17763) as one of the last Long-Term Servicing Channel releases, bringing hybrid-cloud management (Windows Admin Center), Storage Migration Service, enhanced Storage Spaces Direct, System Insights predictive analytics, Linux containers and improved nested virtualization. Microsoft later reissued the setup media several times as “Updated” releases with cumulative updates integrated. This post provides the genuine Windows Server 2019 Updated July 2020 Simplified Chinese refreshed disc (part number 2c9b67da), complete with a PowerShell-verified SHA-256 hash proving every byte matches Microsoft’s official release.

Why choose the Updated media? The 2018 RTM disc requires dozens of cumulative updates after setup — slow and error-prone. The July 2020 refresh integrates all security updates, servicing stack fixes and repairs through that date directly into the installer, so setup finishes at the summer-2020 baseline with only a handful of later updates remaining — the most time-saving choice for VM labs and environment rebuilds.

  • Enterprise IT staff — rebuild or migrate 2019-era environments (AD domain controllers, file services, Hyper-V, container hosts); Updated media installs far faster than RTM
  • Learners and certification students — the standard OS for hybrid-cloud courses, Windows Admin Center and S2D labs
  • Legacy system maintainers — some industry software released after 2020 is certified against Server 2019 with recent cumulative updates, which this media satisfies immediately
  • Homelab builders — Long-Term Servicing Channel release with clear licensing and full virtualization/container features, a classic lab workhorse

Setup selects the edition by product key. The media primarily contains:

EditionBest For
Standard (Core / Desktop Experience)General-purpose servers and virtualization hosts (2 VMs per license) — the most common choice
DatacenterHigh-density virtualization, unlimited VMs, Storage Spaces Direct, SDN and other premium features

During setup you can also choose Server Core (no graphical interface) or the full Desktop Experience installation mode.

The following hash was generated locally using PowerShell Get-FileHash on the complete file — not copied from a website. This ensures every byte of your download is identical to the official media:

To verify your download, open PowerShell in the folder containing the ISO and run:

Get-FileHash .\cn_windows_server_2019_updated_july_2020_x64_dvd_2c9b67da.iso -Algorithm SHA256

If the output matches the hash above, your file is intact. If it doesn’t, delete the file and download again.

  1. Prefer VMs, or harden carefully: mainstream support for Windows Server 2019 has ended (extended support with security-only updates runs to January 2029). Any internet-facing service needs proper firewalling and patch management. For labs, use Hyper-V, VMware Workstation or VirtualBox and take a snapshot immediately.
  2. Patch baseline: this disc integrates updates through July 2020 — after setup, apply later security updates via Windows Update / WSUS.
  3. Core or Desktop Experience?: production workloads should prefer Core (smaller attack surface, lower footprint) managed remotely via Windows Admin Center; choose Desktop Experience for GUI learning or legacy applications.
  4. Licensing and keys: Standard and Datacenter require their own licenses — you can skip the key during setup and activate later; volume environments should use legitimate KMS/MAK.
  5. Suggested VM resources: 2–4GB RAM and an 80GB+ virtual disk; Hyper-V generation-2 VMs and Secure Boot are well supported.
  6. Always verify the hash: a 5GB+ download can easily be corrupted — two minutes of verification avoids a failed install.

Third-party “lite,” “ghost server” or “pre-activated” builds may:

  • Bundle adware, crypto miners or backdoors
  • Preinstall dubious KMS emulators or “permanent activation” scripts that are themselves security risks
  • Gut the WinSxS component store, causing “source files missing” errors when adding roles, installing .NET 3.5 or applying cumulative updates later
  • Replace system files with no verifiable hash, making failures impossible to trace or reproduce

Servers carry business data and services — knowing the image is byte-for-byte identical to Microsoft’s official media matters far more than saving a few minutes. An official ISO plus a verifiable SHA-256 hash is the only reliable route.
