Windows Server 2022 x64 Official ISO Download (Simplified Chinese RTM, 6c73507d) with Verified SHA-256

If you’re looking for a clean, complete, unmodified Windows Server 2022 ISO, you’ve come to the right place.

Windows Server 2022 GA’d in August 2021 as a Long-Term Servicing Channel release, Build 20348 (sharing its codebase branch with Windows 11), focused on hybrid cloud, security and virtualization: Hotpatch (with Azure hybrid benefit), TPM 2.0 and virtualization-based security (VBS), Secured-core servers, SMB over QUIC, enhanced Storage Migration Service, containerized networking policies, 472TB ReFS volumes and improved IPv6 dual-stack support. This post provides the genuine Windows Server 2022 Simplified Chinese RTM disc (part number 6c73507d), complete with a PowerShell-verified SHA-256 hash proving every byte matches Microsoft’s official release.

File-name note: starting with this release, Microsoft’s MSDN/VLSC media uses the regional prefix zh-cn_… (older media used cn_…), so zh-cn_windows_server_2022_x64_dvd_6c73507d.iso is exactly the genuine article.

Editions: the disc contains Standard and Datacenter, each installable as Server Core or with Desktop Experience. There is no Essentials SKU from 2022 onward — the small-business path is “Standard plus the Essentials role/cloud services.”

  • Enterprise IT and architects — the standard deployment media for new production servers, Hyper-V clusters, file/storage services and hybrid-cloud connection points
  • Cloud and container engineers — a base for Windows container hosts, Kubernetes Windows nodes and hybrid management with Azure Arc / Azure Monitor
  • Learners and certification students — Secured-core, Hotpatch, SMB over QUIC and other new features all live on the 2022 platform
  • OS collectors — factory RTM media (6c73507d) of Microsoft’s current in-market LTSC server release, never repackaged
EditionBest For
StandardGeneral-purpose servers and virtualization hosts (2 VMs/containers per license) — the most common choice
DatacenterHigh-density virtualization, unlimited VMs, Storage Spaces Direct, software-defined networking (SDN), shielded VMs
Installation modeServer Core (recommended — smaller attack surface) / Desktop Experience (GUI)

The following hash was generated locally using PowerShell Get-FileHash on the complete file — not copied from a website. This ensures every byte of your download is identical to the official media:

931B1A4EE68858788783501CEC4DE0CA107D41F4FF3EC4591ACB78B2ABA8D2A6

To verify your download, open PowerShell in the folder containing the ISO and run:

Get-FileHash .\zh-cn_windows_server_2022_x64_dvd_6c73507d.iso -Algorithm SHA256

If the output matches the hash above, your file is intact. If it doesn’t, delete the file and download again.

  1. Higher hardware bar: Windows Server 2022 requires TPM 2.0 (mandatory for some features), UEFI with Secure Boot, and an x64-v2-class CPU or newer (older chips such as Xeon E5 v2 and earlier may fail setup). In VMs choose generation 2, enable Secure Boot and add a virtual TPM.
  2. Try it in a VM first: Hyper-V, VMware Workstation (16.2+) or VirtualBox (7+) work well — snapshot immediately. Before bare-metal/production deployment, check the official Windows Server 2022 hardware requirements.
  3. Core or Desktop Experience?: production workloads should strongly prefer Core, managed graphically and remotely via Windows Admin Center — smaller attack surface and fewer patches. Choose Desktop Experience only when you need a local GUI for legacy software.
  4. Licensing and keys: Standard and Datacenter are licensed separately — you can skip the key during setup and activate later; volume environments should use legitimate KMS/MAK, and only Datacenter unlocks S2D and similar premium features.
  5. Patch baseline: this is the 2021 RTM disc — after setup, apply cumulative updates via Windows Update / WSUS (Hotpatch is available in Azure environments).
  6. Always verify the hash: a 5.4GB download can easily be corrupted — two minutes of verification avoids a failed install.

Third-party “lite,” “ghost server” or “pre-activated” builds may:

  • Bundle adware, crypto miners or backdoors
  • Preinstall dubious activation scripts that are themselves security risks
  • Gut the WinSxS component store, causing “source files missing” errors when adding roles, installing .NET 3.5 or applying cumulative updates later
  • Replace system files with no verifiable hash, making failures impossible to trace or reproduce

Servers carry business data and services — knowing the image is byte-for-byte identical to Microsoft’s official media matters far more than saving a few minutes. An official ISO plus a verifiable SHA-256 hash is the only reliable route.
